"Thank you to my community matron"

About: Central Lancashire PCT / Community nursing

(as the patient),

On waking up on Thursday morning after two days of feeling unwell, I couldn't move my right leg or my left arm.

My wife called the community matron for advice, she however attended within the hour & tentatively diagnosed a minor stroke. She called the doctor who came later that morning and confirmed the diagnosis and I was taken to hospital by ambulance.

I finally got out of hospital 21 days later. Since getting out of hospital the community matron has attended at home and devised an ongoing treatment plan. I was sceptical about the service to begin with but can say without any hesitation that it is a great success from my point of view and would recommend it to anyone who qualifies.
