"Our matron is one of very select team"

I am writing to thank you for the opportunity to express an opinion regarding the Community Matron Service.

I wish to say that I consider this to be one of the most welcome and truly useful innovations of recent times. Having recently had the pleasure of a visit, I cannot speak too highly of the both the personality of the Matron herself, and the quality of the care, concern and advice which we received during her short, but eminently effective stay.

Her seemingly encyclopaedic knowledge of the essential points of my medical condition was stunningly reassuring. Her helpful advice on so many topics was invaluable but, most of all, her cheerful and yet concerned demeanour was an uplifting experience for both myself and my wife, which brightened our whole day.

We are convinced that 'our' Matron must be a member of a very select team specially chosen for their excellent qualities, as much as their medical expertise. It is our sincere hope that you will preserve, maintain and develop further this invaluable service, as I am sure, we are not the only recipients who now look forward with anticipation and real pleasure to the next visit.
