"Waiting times"

About: Tameside General Hospital

My Mum had a knee replacement 7 yrs. ago at tgh and was so pleased with the results that when she was told she would need the other knee replacing she specifically asked to go to tgh. She was told she would have surgery within 2-3 months and so we rearranged a holiday we had planned. The three months has now passed and we are still waiting. We understand that it is perhaps not possible to give exact dates but if we could be given some idea then we will know if we need to cancel the holiday altogether. I have rang the secretary 4 times and have yet to receive and call back. if only somebody would take the time to give us some information it would go a long way to easing my mums mind as after waiting everyday for over three months for a letter or phone call it is starting to affect her mental and physical wellbeing,

‘’Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
