"Abysmal nursing care"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

I was admitted for gall stones and again shortly after for colecystitis inflammation. The A&E department worked efficiently as did A.A.U department -problems only began when i was admitted to Primrose Ward. Although i did not need so much care as i was in mild discomfort for 4 days ,i witnessed many incidences of blatant nursing neglect. An middle aged patient in my ward was reduced to screaming for the nurses any nurses help for longer than 15 minutes. The patient in the bed next to him had to restrain him(even thiugh he was ill himself) and i had to go looking for all and any elusive nurses. When one did arrive she was annoyed that she had been called!I saw used iv needles in trays, used towels and urine sanples in toilets and it was common to ask simple questions at least 3 times before a nurse got fed up with you asking and actually helped you.I was constantly on nil by mouth for various scan procedures only to be told these could not go ahead(fair enough)but at one stage i was without food or water for 13 hours because the nurses failed to call the clinic. My friends were shocked to witness this chaos too.I DO NOT trust this hospital to care for my health.
