"NOTHING!!!!! on the early hours ..."

About: King's Mill Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

NOTHING!!!!! on the early hours of monday the 2nd of february this year, i was taken into kings mill hospital with a knife wound (the knife was still in me) in the right hand side of my abdomen, near to my appendix scar. anyway, i arrived at the hospital somtime around 4:20 am, quite surprised to find myself with a knife stuck in my abdomen and not too pleased to be at kings mill hospital. while laid on the bed, waiting to go to surgery, i told the staff who were dealing with me that i did not want them to treat me, that i would rather leave and make my own way to my prefered hospital. the exact responce i got from one of the staff was, and i quote "tough, you're here now, so don't be so stupid" unquote.

to this i requested the name's of all those in the room who would be treating me and said i would be taking the list to a solicitor once i was better, once again i quote a nurse in the room "o.k. you do that then"! around 10:00am i woke up on the ward and this is where i will just use point's of the thing's i had to endure throughout the day.

-i was placed far away from the alarm to ring for a nurse, so i could not get any help or attention. -i had a catheter in when i woke up and asked repeatedly if it could be taken out. a doctor came to see me at 12:00 mid day and said yes i may have it taken out, i never saw him again. i asked time and again, if this could be removed, it was finaly removed around 7:45 pm but from around the catheter throughout the day i was continualy leeking a redish, pinkish, yellow/green slime untill i was sat in a puddle of it.

-the other pacient's on the ward had their bedding changed during the day, mine however was not. i was not offered a drink all day, not even with my dinner. not even to take tablet's with later in the day. i had the most miserable day that day in february. the staff were rude when they did speak and generaly couldnt have cared less about me. they tucked me away because i have a mental illness, i guarantee it!!

What could be improved

the only improvment that kings mill hospital can make, is to close it's door's forever. get a new contract to flatten the entire premises to the ground and turn it into recriational ground, fully free and open to the public! they have spent all that money trying make kings mill look nice, and havn't spent a penny on improving their staffing! it rediculous!

Anything else?

i promise on all that is holy, i will never be returning to kings mill. i will never be bringing my family to kings mill. and not only will i not be recomending kings mill to friends and family, i will be actualy disscourage them from visiting!
