"Utterly Terrible"

About: James Paget University Hospital

The time it takes to be seen is abysmal - I usually have to wait for over an hour after a booked appointment. I get told to go have a scan and that takes weeks to organise, I get told I will be immediately seen after the scan... well 3 weeks later I am still waiting for my 'immediate' appointment. Further, I tried buying a coffee at the cafe using an Ulster £10 note (you know as in a Northern Irish part of UK which we all share a common currency). They refused it initially and when telling them that I would go to the papers they accepted it. The person had never seen a note like it and I was dumbfounded when she said she had never heard of Northern Ireland or knew that it was in the United Kingdom. God help us all!

I am very sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time during your visits to us. I would urge you to get in touch with us so we can please resolve these issues. If you aren't keen to talk to the department direct, you could contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service, who would be able to help you. They are contactable at PALS@jpaget.nhs.uk or 01493 343240. I hope we hear from you soon. Ann Filby, Head of Communications & Trust Secretary
