"MRI Scan no results"

About: Kettering General Hospital

Having had a MRI scan five weeks ago, (21st July) having spoke to my GP today and still no results back they snootily told me to speak with the MRI department direct as results are taking upto ten weeks currently. I therefore rang the hospital and spoke with a young girl whom then put me through to a more senior member of staff. while sympathising with my concern, all she could recommend was that I call back and speak with my referring Dr to ask for them to chase up for my results, she did confirm that results were taking a little longer up to four weeks latest at this time. I mentioned being told it was up to ten weeks by my GP surgery and she said that was ridiculous. Like table tennis, I ended that call and rang back to talk with my referring GP, A polite receptionist this time who put me through to the secretary of the practice Manager, a very "not wanting to help attitude greeted me on the phone. Having confirmed all my details to the said "only working secretary out of seven employed" she told me if she had time, she would try to chase today, but no promises, so it may be Monday or Tuesday when she gets round to it. This is unacceptable, what an earth is my £170 a month getting me?, I have numbness when standing too long in both legs, spasms of the lower back causing my muscles to cramp in my legs, I'm not sleeping because of the problem which I was told by my referring GP she suspected to be compressed nerves, I am exercising as much as I can but the pain is now becoming intolerable but I am not an urgent case. and to add insult to injury I cannot get an appointment to address this problem regarding pain management. I wish I had the technology at home because I would cancel paying my NHS insurance as it is totally wasted. The once excellent NHS is a total joke! and a painful one for all that are in need of its services.

I am sorry to hear about the delays and experience you have had. I hope your G.P has now received your results. If this is not the case please contact the MRI department on 01536 493381. If an appointment with the pain team is still needed please contact the PALS office on 01536 493305.
