My young son broke his leg and we have spent the best part of three months attending hospital appointments following it. It was my first experience of a 'start to finish' Hospital treatment and from the moment the Ambulance arrived to the time we were discharged I can honestly say I am incredibly impressed with the care, thoughtfulness and professionalism we have had throughout the whole process. The Ambulance crew were wonderful, thoughtful and efficient, The senior consultant was wonderful with my son and very quickly got his pain under control and made sure he stayed calm and wasnt touched anymore than essential. The nurse was thoughtful and kind to me when I was trying to hold in my distress at his pain. The theatre staff were swift professional and reassuring without forgetting we were real people not just another procedure. The childrens ward night staff were amazing and considerate. The xray staff all had a lovely way especially one lady who chatted to ben about her grand daughter and put him so at ease he let her transfer him back to his wheelchair, worth her weight in gold! The plaster room ladies who kept him reassured while they tirelessly patched up his cast when he kept wearing through it! The staff on the phone who happily rearranged appointments for me and our consultant who explained things clearly to me and was kind to my son. And anyone else ive missed out!! There are so many people involved in one childs care and now my son has made a great recovery and I will be eternally grateful to all those people who worked so well as a team to help him. I hope you get to see this. Many Thanks Emma and Benj x
