Due to being a high risk pregnancy, I was given an induction date of 25th August as I would be 38 weeks and at more risk of still birth if I went full term. I have been admitted onto ward 1 on the 25th, , but since then I have been left waiting for a room on the delivery site to be induced. A wait due to poor staffing on wards and the suite itself. I have received monitoring but am basically taking up a bed while the risk to my baby rises due to bad management and planning. My care on the ward by the midwives has been superb and without complaint, but by their own admission, they are poorly managed and chronically understaffed hopefully there will be some movement today, but whilst I am waiting, my husbands paternity leave is running out so by the time i get discharged he will have to go straight back to work. Hopefully there will be no complications where i will need the support at home.and my risk to the baby increases due to poor management of busy periods. In any other industry this would not be tolerated but in health care the patient does not have a choice. do I go home and lose my place or stay with no information and hope?
