"I was more than happy with the service"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had a problem with my knee on the Friday and had it for about three or four weeks. It was painful to walk and it had swelled up. I went to A&E to admit myself. After two hours I was seen by a doctor who examined me and sent me for an x-ray. After that the doctor came back and told me I had artheritic septacemia and drained the septic fluid out my knee. He then told me I was being admitted and was having an operation in the morning to drain all the fluid and to wash it out which took place on the Saturday. I went down to theatre for my operation on that morning. So on the Friday night and Saturday morning I was on ward 3. After my operation I was then moved to ward 4 where I stayed until I was discharged on the friday after seeing the physiotherapist and my doctor on his daily rounds. My stay on these wards was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff were very helpful, considerate and always happy to assist in any situation. I was more than happy with the service I required and got. I felt very safe and secure with the staff and their professionalism was excellent. The nurses and doctor and surgeon were more than excellent. Thanks.
