"Sleep aponea"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

I was recently referred by my GP to the sleep clinic for a sleep problem and although I had to wait about 8 weeks to see the Consultant I understand that it was not an emergency so a wait was inevitabe. When I saw the Consultant she was very polite and helpful, explaining everthing to me and my wife as she assessed me and answering any questions we had. And unlike our GP's surgery we were never hurried or made to feel as though we needed to leave after 10 mins or so.The consultant even fast tracked my use of a sleep monitor so i could get back to driving asap as it would be difficult for me to get to and from work otherwise. I now use a C.P.A.P. Machine every evening and can honestly say I feel 100% better when I wake up each morning,I have had 2 reviews since my initial consultation with one of the Department nurses, and I have to say that she is very friendly and always gives advice when needed. Most professional in her approach, attitude and treatment of me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write in and share your positive experience. We are really pleased to note how much better you are feeling since using the C.P.A.P machine. Please be assured that we will of course pass your kind words on to the relevant department as I am sure they will be just as pleased to read your comments as we were.
