"Clearly still a staffing issue"

Visited with my 8 week old grand daughter who had diarrhea and abdominal pain for two weeks. We had been back and forth to GP and still no better so off to A&E. Firstly no private area still to discuss your issues initially! Although just an observation not a problem in this case. We were waiting 3 and a half hours to see a doctor. I thought it went in priority need however older children where seen before my grand daughter who came in without us with what appeared to be possible sprains of limbs! luckily she was fine however a eight week old baby waiting that length of time I with those symptoms I feel should have been priority! Still one doctor for the when department initially, when we were seen and can out the back where they assess was very quite with another doctor chatting socially to a nurse. Still a packed A&E! There is no sign in A&E saying waiting time and ward clerk can't give you any idea. On another note a lady was trying to breast feed walking about, she went into the changing room but no where to sit. This smile thing would make it a little better. The staff need to communicate between each other and patients and I would love to know how you prioritise attending to patients. Lovely new building but the same issues remain, staffing and lack of communication!
