At 46 I have a long history of mental health issues which I only recognised iny late 20's. Years of struggle with cmht in wales and england followed. When I moved to a rural village in wiltshire aged around 40, I had the best gp imaginable who changed my medication and bullied Avon and Wiltshire mental health partnership into supporting me.
Counselling and CBT were no help but I had a very good cpn and was lucky to attend dbt at fountain way Salisbury where I had huge support from an excellent team. Unfortunately a succession of external issues have taken their toll and I am now worse than ever, but suddenly I am expected to cope using only dbt techniques and an antidepressant which I'm not sure works.
I have no support and don't know why. I'm made to feel more worthless than ever, a fraud and a time waster.
