Me and my husband we have tried a baby for 8 years and not successful, in 2012, when I worked in London, I received one treatment (pre- IVF) and not successful, the doctor told me that carried on another one, if not successful, they will offer me IVF treatment. at that moment I was 40 years and 6 months, and I was told that after 42 years old, I cannot get IVF treatment anymore.
But because later I came to Chelmsford to work, cannot come back to carry on the treatment, my GP referred me to Gynaecology at Broomfield Hospital, she told me that I am 42 years now, so she tried to refer me to hospital as soon as possible.
However, when I saw the doctor and nurse at hospital in this month, they told me that patient who is after 39 years and 10 months cannot get IVF treatment! it is different with other hospitals! But if the policy is really like this, at least they should offer me some other treatments or advice, surely IVF is not the only treatment for infertility! can you imagine that patients come to a doctor and a nurse for some help for disease, but they just sit there and tell you that they cannot do anything to help! very unprofessional! what does NHS's salary pay for?
For a patient, it is not easy to get an appointment to see doctor in a special field at hospital, after we wait for quite long time and finally see a doctor, and are told that they cannot do anything to help! how ridiculous! I am really angry about service like this!
