"Went fishing for 2 weeks and never went home for 8..."

I collapsed whilst on a fishing holiday in Cornwall and was admitted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital Truro. I was diagnosed with acute gallstone pancreatitis and I spent 10 miserable days in their critical care unit and 5 days on Poldark Ward ,I was discharged on the 24/05/2013 allthough i was still extremely poorly, however i was declared fit and well to travel home. I arrived home late that evening very poorly unable eat,drink or walk. I was admitted to the Royal Liverpool Hospital the following morning at 6:30 am and then spent 2 days in ESAU ward and then transferred to ward 5a. I then spent the following 8 months having very intense treatment (discharged fit and well in Cornwall what a laugh). I was under the care of the professor and his fantastic team, without doubt they saved my life.During my long stay l was probably not the easiest patient to deal with but the staff were absolutely fantastic with me. The care I received could not be surpassed ,I would like to thank all the doctors the ward manager,all the sisters,staff nurses,nurses and ward assistants. The ward was always kept spotlessly clean, the cleaning staff worked tirelessly and they were always very pleasant and courteous the same can be said for the catering staff they too are absolutely brilliant. As for my care I was always kept informed of what was happening and I don't think I could have received better treatment anywhere else in the UK once again thank you to the whole team , I,m due to have further procedures done shortly so I will see you all again. I have no worries about coming back as I know I will be well looked after by the totally Professional and careing team.
