"Update on spiral fracture"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

This is an update on the care or lack of that my partner has recieved after his fracture, after finally receiving the surgery he needed, he couldn't wait to get home, with no visit from a nurse to dress his arm or no communication about having his staples out we went to his follow up appointment at the fracture clinic, to cut a very long story short before the X-ray he recieved, the nurse on duty couldn't under stand why after three weeks no one had been or contacted us to have the staples removed, we told them no one had contacted us and we were concerned and contacted our gp about our concerns of an infection and the time the staples had been in, no infection and staples were fine in three week... The nurse got the consultant who looked and said these should have been removed after ten days. And asked if the district nurse had been to re dress my arm as it was infected! Of course they hadn't been out! And to put the icing on the cake they were asking if I had been wearing my support brace, what support brace? I hadn't been giving one after a plate as long as my arm and various screws fitted to my arm I was given nothing! Which on the X-Ray showed slight movement in the fracture! The saga continues.... We are taking this matter further...

We would be pleased to arrange for this matter to be investigated if the patient would like to contact us directly.
