"Admission and treatment"

About: Borders General Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I was admitted to borders general by my gp after suffering ongoing chest pain(unstable angina). I was seen by a consultant who did not have my records and after 24hrs on ward my records still were not on ward, the consultant discharged me with increased medication(untried) which I now find to be making me quite dizzy so I have stopped pills.

During the time I was on ward I was never seen by anyone from cardiology, could not even make nurses aware of any pain other than hunting one down as there was no call bell by my bed despite making several people aware of it.

I felt that I was nothing but an inconvenience, I have always praised nhs and had someone told me they had been treat in this way I would have found it hard to believe.

I think its a disgrace my records were not on ward and periods of chest pain not recorded by staff.

I struggle to understand being discharged while still suffering chest pain with no attempt to find out the cause.

BGH don't need to worry any further about me blocking a bed because I will never return.

I make the statement bed blocking because this is how I was made to feel, I don't know where to go now for advice but feel assured bgh wont help.

I did not walk in demanding treatment, I was sent in by my gp who was concerned by the episodes of angina I was having, I left borders general feeling no one cared or indeed could be bothered, I am well aware of the strain on hospitals at this time with bed shortages but that is not a problem I can solve
