"Traumatic childbirth!"

About: Northwick Park Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

the midwife told me to push which caused bleeding! The epidural was inserted incorrectly. I was not given painkillers despite continuous requests! At the start of the childbirth, during contractions, I was in pain which made me faint for over 12 hours before the hospital would admit me!

During childbirth, I did not understand a word of any of the midwives there so I did not know how to push or what to do! finally a woman was able to speak english well enough for me to understood to know how to push!

This was a terrible experience and has put me off having another child again! I was left in the ward by myself after the birth and the nurse/midwife who had told my husband to leave then also left me without leaving a pillow for me to sleep on! I could not move nor did i know what to do and it is a miracle that my son is alive and well after this incident as he was crying all night ... I had to hold him through my pain and try not to sleep or he would have fallen out of my hands on to the floor because the bed rails were not up and i did not know how to work the bed nor did it occur to me to do this after such a traumatic childbirth!

I have complained countless times and every time my complaint is deleted or not dealt with! This hospital and its staff has a lot to answer to! Staff members at the reception were rude and obnoxious! I left the very next day!
