"Elsing Ward NNUH"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

(as a relative),

My nanny is currently there and she is there for end of life care. The visiting times and only 2 people per visit is useless when your trying to be there for a relation at the end of her life. What with her having 2 sons and 6 grandkids and friends & only 2 people able to visit at 2 times a day means that seeing who can spend time with her is a juggle during one of the most stressful times of our existence. Not to mention nanny crying when we get there as she says she's so lonely and unable to do anything about it. Also trying to say goodbye when surrounded by 5 other patients is a bit callous when they promised they were going to move her to a single room for her last 48 hours. These past couple of days have been a nightmare and the hospital is not making it any easier in fact it's made it worse.

We are very sorry to hear that the visiting times have not been flexible enough for your family. We can make separate arrangements in these situations and we will pass on your feedback to the ward sister.

We are sorry to hear about your difficulties in visiting your nanny. You may want to speak to the ward sister or our Patient Advice and Liaison Service about more flexibility on visiting times. It can be difficult to make side rooms available when the hospital is busy and we are sorry if we have not be able to help. Contact PALS at: pals@nnuh.nhs.uk
