"No advice on free bus pass after DVLA revoked my license on medical grounds"

About: Southampton West / Cannon House

(as the patient),

M driving license was revoked due to mental health issues. I asked what would happen now and what help could I get and I was given an awful response ' I dont know'. Left without a plan or direction I found out a year later when my license was due back that I was entitled to free travel on buses in southampton. I have since asked where the responsibility lies to inform patients on what help or benefits with the doctors or psychiatrists! I feel angry at this lack of support.

Thank you for taking the time to post some valuable feedback for the Trust.We are sorry that you feel angry about the lack of support you received when your licence was revoked.

It would have been helpful if the person you asked had known that there is a medical evidence form that can used to apply for a concessionary bus pass. This has to be signed and stamped by a medical practitioner and we are sorry that this was not explained to you at the time.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention as we will ensure that the whole team are made aware of the help that is available.
