"Felt like I was going mad"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as the patient),

I had Shingles for 17 months and was referred to Nottingham City Hospital as there is no cure for it. I was sent to see a doctor who administered steroid injections in my spine which was no good. I was then referred to QMC where someone made me have panic attacks, felt depressed and felt like I was going mad. The doctor could not give me anything then but after a day he gave me some Valium and this cured it for the time being. I then went to see the same doctor and Nottingham City again, who did not want to give any more injections. I was then given an appointment which was confirmed on the wrong date and the wrong hospital. I received nothing in the post, just a telephone call, which turned out to be wrong, as no appointment had been booked. The administration had made a mistake and there was no correspondence at all. It seems now that I have to go to the Respiratory clinic, which is the right way to deal with my pain. I am now going back to the GP to get another appointment with the pain clinic.
