"Inappropriate remarks from receptionists"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary / Accident and emergency

(as other),

I work at a shopping centre and recently went to the minor injuries unit to borrow a wheelchair for an elderly shopper who was experiencing difficulties. I wanted to take the shopper to the minor injuries unit for attention.

The people at the reception desk said ‘the last one you sent us died, don’t send us any more’ which I felt was inappropriate. I did previously take an elderly gentleman who had fallen to the minor injuries unit, he was 76 and subsequently passed away undergoing treatment for a broken hip.

The receptionists said to call an ambulance, and whilst I did not think an ambulance was necessary they did nothing to help.
