"More explanation needed for first time users"

My GP didn’t explain how the booking of my hospital appointment would work, so a little surprised by the messed call and message but rang back and was offered some different hospitals! Bit confusing at first but after some questions I understood how it worked. Thought the opportunity to go to different hospitals was a good idea but logistics bade me chose the Princess Royal Hospital although Wolverhampton would have been a sooner appointment. I think it’s a good service but more explanation for first time users! ! !

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your recent experience of booking an appointment with the TRAQS team.

I am sorry that you were not aware of who TRAQS were. All GP practices have been provided with a supply of patient leaflets which explain who TRAQS are and what will happen next once the decision to refer you on for further treatment has been made. We have asked GPs to provide all patients with a copy if they will be contacted by TRAQS to avoid the very issues you raised - particularly confusion.but inevitabley some patients do not receive the leaflet.

However, I am pleased to hear that the person you spoke to was able to explain what we do and although you were not able to take advantage of an earlier appointment at Wolverhampton you were able to appreciate the benefits of the Choices available to you.
