"Have not been able to find out what treatment is planned"

About: Croydon University Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My mum was diagnosed three years ago with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s. Two years ago they came in following a fall and had an operation. After that, cognitive reasoning was noticeably impaired. Had a fall last night at the residential home and an ambulance brought her to A&E. When informed, I came in to A&E towards 10am by which time mum was in AMU being assessed. I left towards 2pm to learn mum was admitted to Wandle 1.

I’ve read mums notes, seen that she has broken her nose but have not been able to speak with nurse in charge to find out what treatment is planned. Staff appear to be very busy. At 3: 30pm mum was offered tea + biscuit.

I have finally got the opportunity to speak with Nurse and reasoned that Mum will be detained overnight. I shall phone tomorrow to know where I need to visit her.

This was better than 2 years ago when I had difficulty locating my mum and nobody was helpful or could direct me to her.
