"Maternity Service"

My wife and I choose North Tees as the hospital for the birth of our child. During the pregnancy the Maternity team were supportive and helpful. During a visit to the Maternity unit they thoroughly explained all the different options for birth and for the post - natal care. Any questions we had were answered, no matter how silly they may have been. Without going into detail my wife's labour was not entirely straight forward, the care and support shown to both of us during this time was amazing. The midwives, students, nurses and doctors made us both aware of every decision that needed to be made and the choices that were available to us. Not only did they keep my wife calm and as relaxed as possible during this period they also did the same for me, which is no small task when you feel unable to help. My deepest thanks go to every member of the team that dealt with us. Following the birth of my son, the after care given, in the hospital and once we were at home, was second to none.
