What I liked
The location
What could be improved
- waiting times, I am often in the hospital for 3+ hours each time I have a standard outpatient appointment despite early morning appointments
- liaison between staff and departments
- communication, information sharing and transparancy about waiting times, process and planned intervention
- assumptions about knowledge of process and things such as directions. It is often assumed that I know what to do or where to go and staff are often rude and unhelpful when asked to clarify
- follow up actions to be completed as promised such as follow up phone calls re: test results
- links with GPs for follow up including blood tests and prescriptions to limit the long waiting times in the hospital
Anything else?
I have regular outpatient appointments at the hospital and although the specialist I see is knowledgable I always find the appointments stressful.
