"Early pregnancy unit"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

I had a. Missed miscarriage and was sent to the early pregnancy unit. They kept me waiting for a long time to be seen each time I went, despite having an appointment. The doctors were all young, totally un emapthic and didn't understand the basics about miscarriage. I've young female doctor couldn't draw blood properly and left me with horrific bruises. On another occasion I was left sitting outside waiting for the young make doctor for about 20 minutes as he chatted up the two girls who were doing the ultrasounds. I was not so emotionally upset on that visit but there was another woman who was and we had to listen to their inappropriate conversations which they. Had with the door open, knowing we were waiting. They then missed an infection, booked surgery for me which when I later called, they said they didn't have me on the books, and sent me home with a prescription for penicillin, despite the fact I have an anaphylactic allergy to it. I left there in tears every time I went, mostly because of how I was treated. The nurses seemed to be lovely but very busy and the only ones with any knowledge or kindness. It is a disgusting service and I am now pregnant again. I can manage another miscarriage if it should happen, but I will never go back to this hospital if I do so. The thought fills me with dread.
