"Experience in Victoria Hospital "

About: Victoria Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

I was admitted to the Victoria on 5 Aug after going to my GP and was in for four days. This was the first time I have been in hospital since having my tonsils out 50 years ago and I was apprehensive.

What I experienced however were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff and I was very impressed with the way investigations were actioned and carried out quickly. I am left with a very positive view of the hospital and my experience!

My only complaint would be the fact I had to go to Kirkcaldy rather than the Queen Margaret which is on my doorstep.

Dear Dal,

Thank you for taking time to share your experience of being treated at Victoria Hospital with us. I am pleased that you found it to be a positive experience and am grateful to you for your kind remarks. The vast majority of healthcare needs can be provided at Queen Margaret Hospital, which is closer to where you live, but the specialist in patient services are provided from the new Victoria Hospital where we have been able to coordinate the highly specialist care and equipment needed.

I hope that you are now making a full recovery and that it will be another 50 years before you need to call upon us again!

best wishes,

John Wilson, Chief Executive, NHS Fife.
