"Georgina Ward the best for cancer patients"

I am writing this email because I am now a patient at the New Queen Elizabeth hospital awaiting a stem cell and bone marrow transplant. This is solely down to my GP and the excellent work of the staff on the Georgina Ward at Russells Hall hospital. I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in early February this year. When the doctor gave me the diagnosis she admitted that very night. I have had three chemotherapy treatments and have been an in-patient for 14 weeks in the isolation unit in the Georgina Ward. My time out of hospital has required me to visit the Georgina Ward clinic every Thursday. I have never experienced a long waiting time. What I have experienced is some very unpleasant patients who are rude to all and sundry but are dealt with with the most polite and courteous responses from the reception desk. Last Thursday I had my last visit to clinic, I experienced a very unpleasant female complaining about the long delay; she was very politely informed that she had turned up one and half hours early for her appointment! Without the care that I received from the team led by my consultant; the compassionate nursing staff; the excellent administration staff I would not be fortunate enough to be in the position I am now. My sole experience of Russells Hall is that the community is fortunate to have such a dedicated and expert medical staff working with terminally patients in the Georgina Ward.
