excellent service when went into labour, however diabetic day care centre drove me to distraction

What could be improved

I was given a dedicated midwife because i am diabetic. I was having contractions and babies heart rate was bad so had an op. The baby was taken to my husband but suddenly taken from him with no explanation. However he was in SCBU for two weeks, the nursing staff there were fantastic, i was in hospital for about 9 days. I was in a ward with two women who had children in SCBU and one women that wasn't, oh my god, does no one explain that they have to bring in their own milk for the baby and that the baby will cry if it is hungry, had to wear headphones and put pillow over my head. After this episode one of the women left to go home and the other SCBU mum went to a separte side room. Again another night of this screaming from not one mother but three and on top of that the babies were crying. the following morning i complained to ward manager who moved me to a side room. I think with mum's with babies in SCBU they should automatically be put in the side rooms or a ward room to share with other mum's in SCBU as it is a very distressing time for a new mum eing separated from their baby.

Anything else?

tell the diabetic day care centre that we are humans too, they made me so depressed, the midwife wasn't that interested, the diabetic nurse ran the unit and prescribed insulin although she is not qualified to prescribe and you end up spending 3 hours a week in there.
