"I found it hard to talk to staff"

About: Leigh Infirmary Mh Oupatients Clinic / Women's Mental Health Unit

(as the patient),

I was taken there because I was planning to end my life, while I was in there the women who was running the ward the first night I was in was really nice, the first doctor I saw was also really lovely and helpful to me.

The next day was not good I saw a doctor who said the unit couldn't help me as I was not co operative with the ward, this was all because I asked to go for a walk or if staff could take me for a walk and apparently they had no staff available for this.

Most of the patients in their I found entertained each other because there wasn't much to do to aid improvement in condition during both of my stays there. With their lack of understanding of autism and lack of interesting in listening to my opinion about it I found it hard to talk to them.

I don't ever want to go back and they made me feel more like I didn't want to be alive because of being misunderstood and not accepted because of my condition. I hope any one who stays on this ward receives the same care I did from the nurse who took time out talk to me, and the first doctor I saw.
