"I can’t praise them enough"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

People don’t generally ring to say well done on a good job, but would rather complain. I wanted to say thanks. These guys arrived quickly and were really nice.

I called an ambulance for my son. He’s 11 years old and a type 1 diabetic. He had an injection burst when attempting to inject on a spot which had been injected on before. His levels were really low but we couldn't get them back up.

I called an ambulance around midnight, they arrive unbelievably quick. Especially when you consider I live in the sticks on the coast. As soon as ended the call Sam and Dave were at the door – we’re talking 15 seconds from putting the phone down!

They looked after my son and left lots of useful information. The service was top notch and they arrived unbelievable quick. I can’t praise them enough.

Response from Sara Coburn, Patient Engagement Manager, Governance, South Western Ambulance Service Foundation Trust

Hi Nile417

Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback - I hope your son is feeling better.

It is always so rewarding to hear how our staff are delivering excellent care to patients, and reassurance to their family, when they need it most.

We can share your kind words with Sam and Dave, however we will need a little more specific information to be able to do this. If you are happy to, please can I ask you to contact me on either 01392 261 552 or sara.coburn@swast.nhs.uk and we can discuss this further.

Thank you, again, for sharing your story.

Sara
