firstly this not my local hospital (Salisbury is). I was passed on to SGH as a more senior surgical opinion was needed. the whole experience was professional and straight forward from, consultant appointments to pre op assessment's . on my admission for a hip replacement day assessment staff were friendly and helpful. a short hobble to theatre and once again anaesthesia staff were great and reassuring and at no time was I not aware of what was about to happen. the recovery staff on both levels need medals for being so on the ball and juggling with 3 hands as well as doing their utmost best. F1 Orthopaedic ward was very nice I was given painkillers on the ball and was never left hanging when using the buzzer as response times were instant day and night . The consultant's team were fantastic and I have a brand new hip to boot ,thank you all so much and southamptoners are so lucky to have this jewel in their crown. I will insist my other hip is done here as well and not my local. well done all
"a wonderful hospital"
