"Don't bother going to the ..."

About: Guy's Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Don't bother going to the Minor Injuries Walk-In Unit, the chances of them seeing you is near to nil for anything other than a cut or graze.

The web site states that the Unit treats all kinds of things including: "foreign bodies in the eyes and nose" and "dental problem".

This is not true. Today they refused to help my friend who attended with an eye problem (he just wanted them to look in it to make sure there was no 'foreign body' there causing the weeping and soreness) and they recently refused to look at my problem when I went on a Saturday morning (I needed some anti-biotics to stave off a gun infection until I could get seen by my own GP and be treated by my dentist.

What could be improved

1) The web site information needs to be drastically up-dated to inform the public that the only thing done in this unit is plasters on cut knees, which is what my friend this morning saw was being treated.

2) Educated staff - they were unhelpful on both occasions

Anything else?

Get someone in there it assess why something that costs so much money is not being used in accordance with what the web site claims.

Total waste of tax payers money if a "Minor Injuries Unit" does not treat the categories it says on the web site they do! Does management know they are refusing to see patients?
