"No appointment in 4 months"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as the patient),

The only downside to the appointment was the waiting time to get the first choice of appointment venue which was the Princess Royal Hospital. 1st contacted in April- chose PRH. August – no appointment for PRH, so decided to take second choice instead.

I was under the impression all should get an appointment with preferred choice within 16 weeks! Not my experience in this occasion.

Dear Opal495

Thank you for your feedback which is much appreciated. Although your referral was processed by the TRAQS team we note that your comments relate to Princess Royal Hospital NHS Trust/Royal Shrewsbury Hospital NHS Trust and as such we are unable to comment on their behalf.

Please may we direct you the Patient Advice Liaison Officer (PALS). They will be able to take your comments further on behalf of the individual hospital concerned.

PALS PRH - 01952 282888

PALS RSH - 01743 261691

The NHS Patient Charter does state that all patients should be seen within 18 weeks of referral. However, when there are no local appointments to offer TRAQS will always offer alternative appointments, which may mean travelling further for a sooner appointment but if the patient chooses to wait then that is the patient's Choice.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond.
