"Pleased with care at A&E Hairmyres"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My mum had to attend A&E after her abdominal wound opened and a large clot had formed. From the minute the paramedics arrived until the time she was discharged we felt reassured that she was receiving the best possible care. She was seen extremely quickly by both medical and surgical staff and the nurses on duty were extremely good at keeping both my mum and ourselves informed of what was happening. I was impressed at the speed at which the staff attended to her and the professionalism of the nursing staff as although they were busy as they made sure they spent time caring for all patients. I never usually write into praise folk but the NHS gets a lot of bad press and I truly believe after today's experience nothing could be further from the truth - thank you!

Dear AJEM,

Many thanks for posting this and I am so pleased to read that your mum was so well looked after when she arrived at our A and E department here at Hairmyres.

I know how stressful it is for all concerned, especially your mum, and it is so nice of you to take the time to write this. I will ensure the team down in A and E are aware of this immediately.

I hope your mum continues to recover well.

Very best wishes

David
