"Caring GP"

About: Greater Manchester

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

This story has been posted by Healthwatch Tameside on behalf of a member of the public who wishes to remain anonymous. We have their details and will forward any comments to them. They said…

Last year from January to May 2013 I needed to use the NHS as my husband became ill. He had been in Salford Royal Hospital and he seemed to deteriorate very quickly after he was discharged.

We had to use the Hollies surgery, Dukinfield quite a lot and the service we received was second to none. From the receptionists, practice nurse and our GP Dr Proctor. He even came to see my husband at home without even asking him to. My husband died in May in Willow Wood Hospice. On the day he died Dr Proctor came to my home to see if I was alright and to see if he could help in any way. How many GPs are as caring as him?
