"Hospital admission via 111 service"

About: Medway Community Healthcare Medway Maritime Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

I called 111 after suffering for 8 days with severe sore throat. Although my GP had prescribed anti biotics, the condition worsened. I was sent to my local Hospital and diagnosed with Quinsy. The Doctor arranged for me to see an ENT specialist at another Hospital where I was treated very well indeed and given IV antibiotics. Then through the not inconsiderable efforts of one of the Nurses who, I believe, should have finished her shift and gone home was able to be discharged that evening thereby freeing a bed.

The 111 service worked very well indeed!

A big thank you to her and all at Medway Maritime Hospital

Thank you for your positive feedback regarding your trip to the hospital and the unselfish behaviour of one of the nurses. It is always so heartening to read that staff go beyond the call of duty to ensure you had a positive outcome.

Glad to see that the 111 service worked well when it was needed.

Thank you
