"Excellent Care following a stroke"

About: University Hospital Monklands / General Medicine (Wards 2,10,12 and 17)

(as a relative),

My dad had a stroke in June this year and ended up spending 5 weeks in Ward 21 in Monklands Hospital.

I would like to commend Senior Charge Nurse Armitt and the staff for the great care and compassion shown to both my dad and all of us as a family.

The ward was always very clean and had a calm atmosphere, the staff were always helpful when looking for an update on how things were progressing with my dad.

I cannot forget to also thanks the staff who provide support, physio's, OT's and the domestics.

The staff accommodated my dad getting out for a few hours when it was my birthday which meant so much to us as a family but more importantly it meant so much to my dad.

It's all these things that make a difference to patients and families, please keep up the excellent care.

Dear Thankful daughter and family,

Many thanks for your kind comments about the physiotherapist and occupational therapists who have been involved in the treatment of your Dad. I will make sure your comments are passed to the staff concerned.

May I also wish your dad a speedy recovery!

Dear thankful daughter and family,

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your kind words in relation to your father's care in ward 21 at Monklands. We strive to provide person centred care and take account of all the family's needs.

I will certainly let Senior Charge Nurse Armit know as well as the other staff you have mentioned.

I hope your father is recovering,

Thank you

Rhona
