About: Huddersfield Royal Infirmary

I arrived at HRI on a wedsnesday evening with terrible stomach pains, all doctors I had seen said sure it was appendicitis. Was admitted to SAU unit where I found staff moody and rude, she was horrible to my partner also, and felt like a burden for asking for pain relief, nurse have me morphene at 2.30am when I asked for Codiene, nurses in next shift were lovely. Told my operation would be between 8am-5pm that day. Did not go into theatre until 12am next morning. Wasn't really explained about the procedure. Theatre staff were lovely and ward 15 staff were so kind to me. All in all a stressful emotional experience for me. Female age 20.

We are so sorry to hear of your disappointing experience of our services, clearly this is not the service we expect for our patients. If you would like us to follow up on the issues you raise, we will be pleased to do so. In order that we can do that, can we ask that you contact our Patient Advice and Complaints team on 0800 013 0018, 01484 342825, or by email to patientadvice@cht.nhs.uk with full details. We do, however, hope you are now feeling much better.
