"Stroke unit"

About: Colchester General Hospital

Ona rrival at A & E dept, was treated with care and kindness , the speed of the ability to get scan ( CT) was good, and the following diaganosis was good and proffesional. Mild stroke, wow what a shock to the system, it was decided to admit me, and was transferred to the Amber ward of the stroke unit. My treatment, care and well boeing from the nursing staff, physios, OT specialists was wonderful , daily duties by auxillary personnel, ( Cleaners, food and drink dispensing personnel) was also done to a high level of compentency. Hospital food, was good, wholesome and with choices every day, After 5 days, was allowed to go home to finish my recouparation, armed with sufficient supplies of medicines, paperwork of what to take and when. Overall, the system works ( And very well too) from arriving at the A&E dept to leaving. At this point i would like to thank all the staff in the A&E and stroke unit for their care and kindness, in what was a very trumatic time for me and my wife.
