I had 2 secral nerve stimulators fitted in August. I wasn't given much info on the op or complications of the op. My only concern was that I could safely start a family with the implants in. I was told it would be fine as long as the implants are turned off.
After having them fitted, I found out there were many things I could not have done whilst I had the implants in (for example, certain scans and x-rays). Can't have paddles to restart my heart if it were to stop etc I was very upset about this and probably wouldn't have gone through with the op had I known.
My periods have stopped since having them in, I get bad cramp in my lower legs and feet also. Which I keep getting told have nothing to do with the implants. I saw a different nurse recently and I told her my concerns. She advised me to turn the implants off and keep them off till I see my surgeon. I am to tell my surgeon I want them removed.
Also, I should have had a checkup 6/7 months previously. I still haven't had this appointment, even though I have phoned multiple time to raise my concerns. I eventually got an appointment which is still a few weeks away.
I just want these things taken out!
