What could be improved

General nursing care was poor. My mother was often left uncleaned e.g. her legs, clothing and bed clothes covered in dried blood for long periods.

Provision of dignity and respect. My mother who was a long stay patient did not even have her hair combed by staff!

Staff were mostly disinterested. Communication with relatives did not exist and attempts to discuss my mother's care met with constant disintetest. Access to/ discusion with my mothers consultant and primary care team was limited and frustrating.

Anything else?

Restaurant hours are poorely planned, especially at weekends and at peak visiting times the main restaurant is closed! A small cafe remains open but this cannot cope with demand with vsitors, patients, staff wandering the hospital corridors with hot drinks.

Over a period of two mnonths I witnessed no less than two major virus outbreaks on a number of the wards placing patients effectively under "ward arrest" - very unimpressed.
