"Hospital staff do not listen"

About: Nuffield Health, Plymouth Hospital

Outpatient operation, the nurses were very quick to get me out of room and out of the hospital, felt like I was on a pay meter that had ran out, even after telling them I was not well and needed more pain relief, they insisted I was fit and well. Later that day While at home the pain caused me to blackout and was then transferred and treated at Derriford where I was provided with better care.

I am very sorry to hear that your experience in our hospital was not to the standards that I expect for all our patients. If you would like for me to look further into this, please write directly to me and I will see what I can do. Unfortunately, given the time passed since your visit, it may be difficult for the individuals involved to remember, but it is always possible to look into your records and speak to the staff involved to see if we can learn any lessons and avoid any such issues recurring. Once again, I am very sorry to hear that you do not feel that you were listened to, or looked after well during your stay. David Houghton, Hospital Director. Nuffield Health, Plymouth Hospital. Derriford Road, Plymouth. PL6 8BG
