"Podiatrist was chatty and smiling"

I went to the Podiatry clinic yesterday – I have been going there on an off for some time. Yesterday I was seen by James, it was a very different experience.

Firstly he was ‘alive’, chatty and smiling like it was a pleasure to deal with me. Secondly, I needed a second pair of insoles, instead of being sent away and told to come back in 2 / 3 weeks he said he would see to them straight away. I only had to wait 20 minutes.

The health service has a lot to learn about customer service and to consider whether it is practical or convenient for people to come back on another day. Because James spent just a few more minutes sorting out my insoles I don’t need to worry until my next appointment.
