I had to go to the emergency assessment unit at Nottingham City Hospital to be treated for blood poisoning. The best thing about my treatment was being moved into a different ward. Although, privacy during initial assessment and record taking could have been better. Other things that could be improved were the state of the unit and the attitude of reception staff. I was made to feel angry because the reception staff were rude and abrupt bordering on ignorant. I would like to thank the paramedics who were pleasant, patient and a credit to the profession. The disabled facilities and access to A11 were extremely difficult. However a total change of attitude was experienced when I was moved to a much nicer patient ward after three nights on A&E.
