"Visit to Minor Injuries Unit at Ludlow Hospital"

About: Ludlow Hospital

We arrived at mid day on last Sunday and were seen by a staff nurse within 5 mins. We went into a treatment room where he took down some basic details then went into the room next door to look up my records on a computer. He was back in a couple of minutes and took down further details about my medication and the problem I currently had before examining me. He was quick, efficient, gentle, kind and caring but said he wanted a doctor to look at me and asked us to wait back outside. About another 5 mins later he came back and said that unfortunately the doctor couldn't see me for another hour and ten minutes and directed us to the hospital cafe so we could get something to eat and drink while we were waiting. We saw the doctor exactly an hour and ten minutes later. He examined me and again he was quick, gentle and kind, making sure he explained everything in plain English and gave me some antibiotics. We only moved to Ludlow from Croydon 18 months ago and are quite used to having to wait 3 or 4 hours in a busy hospital A&E department where, more often than not, you are treated like a number rather than a human being. In comparison, Ludlow Minor Injuries Unit is a haven of quite, calm, efficient but friendly highly professional service where the patient is treated with respect and dignity. I would like to say well done and thank you to all the staff we came into contact with. You are a shining example of what good health care should and can be. The cafe was great too and excellent value for money.
