i had to seek medical support due to sustaining deep cut to my left hand, on the 1st of august2014 around 7pm. When i arrived at the A&E, i spoke to the receptionist and explained my reason for being there. i was asked to confirm information before i was told to take a seat and expect to be seen in 45min. After the waiting period passed and i was seen by the nurse and possibly a student consultant/ doctor on call. who i have explained to about my concern over the way the cut was and how it was bleeding fast if the pressure was not placed on the cut. i asked if they would consider applying glue on it to prevent it from getting worst and help me to do my work with out any difficulty as i work with children and i need to wash my hands regularly due to job description. the staff seemed to think that i was being over the top and made me believe that i did not need to wait for that type of treatment and nurse was advised to just put on tinny plasters and i will be fine. once nurse had done what she was instructed to i was told to go and get my plasters changed on 4th August2014, to my G.P. when i returned home i released that i have made mistake by seeking medical help from Heartlands. i spent that night in pain. Next morning 2nd August2014, i visited my G.P. and he was able to help me by covering up the cut and adding on sealant to provide some support for the effected area to heal. i am very disappointed by the lack of staff's knowledge and experience. i wish i had not visited the Heartlands and had a choice to go to my own G.P. As i was treed by the strangers they have seem to not understand my concern / responsibilities. and how my well being will be effected by this injury. i am still in a lot of pain and this has left me with a huge re-grate. i shell not be in any hurry to visit HEARTLANDS I future.
