After initial assessment, during which I was dealt with quickly and efficiently by a junior nurse, I was seen to by a more senior nurse. The nurse was clearly appalled that I had come to the a&e department. Now, I am not in disagreement that it may not have been the place to go, however, I was recommended by my GP to do so. Her annoyance that I had been recommended to attend the a&e department was very clear and was taken out on me. She made it very clear that she felt it was ridiculous and said she would love to call my GP surgery to tell them that it was not on. She was quite reluctant to help, even after her comments had brought me to tears. I left the department in tears and feeling very embarrassed. I would have been happy to accept if I was told respectfully that my GP had been mistaken and should not have sent me there as they can not help me. On the otherside all the other staff in the department were very helpful and efficient. I was surprised at how quickly I was seen too.
"Disrespectful and unprofressional"
