"left in pain and discharged"

About: University Hospital Of North Durham

After having a hernia repair following my c-section I thought all had gone well. I was to return for my 12 week post op check. From having the surgery to waiting for my appt I was still in pain and unable to bend without experiencing bad pain. Went for my follow up and after waiting an hr past my appt time I was seen by my consultant. He basically said you need to loose weight and the reason you are in pain is because of the amount of stitches you have inside. He felt my scar and said there is no reoccurence so I am discharging you. My gp arranged an ultrasound scan and this showed up a collection of fluid on my abdomen which is going to need drained, this is what has been causing my pain. So hence I am now waiting to be seen by a different surgeon in a different trust as I begged my gp not to send me back to Durham.
